FIJET Academy Program for young Journalists will take place in Tangier – Morocco in 2022

We are excited to announce the FIJET ACADEMY PROGRAM for YOUNG JOURNALISTS 2022- Tangier, Morocco. It will be a 7-day residential program for journalists between 18 and 35 years of age. Our participants will be hosted by a very reputable institute in Tangier, Institut Supérieur Internationale de Tourisme de Tanger/ the Higher International Institute of Tourism of Tangier and be accommodated in the dormitory rooms of the institute.

This 7-day program will be between 24th and 31st of July 2022 and it consists of social programs and academic lectures.

The academic lectures will be given in English by both Moroccan and International distinguished professors who are specialized in their fields.

The lectures will be on tourism and travel journalism and be delivered at L’Institut Supérieur Internationale de Tourisme de Tanger.

As part of the social program the excursions are organized in accordance with the educational purpose of the whole program. Within the excursions program the participants will have a chance to go to very attractive cities nearby Tangier and on the Strait of Gibraltar such as; Tetouan, Assilah, Chefchaouen and also the famous Hercules Caves close to Tangier Medina.

They will gain as much information as possible and familiarize with the local culture during the social program.

We strongly believe that excursions and lectures are both important and effective means of motivating young journalists to tourism journalism. This program will be a chance for them to gain a different view of journalism, find out their passion, meet and talk with tourism professionals, make new international friends and discover the famous tourist attractions of Tangier, Morocco.

IT Requirements

It is suggested that all participants bring their own cameras to take photos and their own laptops to write their essays.

Academic Requirements

Applications are welcomed from:
• Graduates with a subject-appropriate academic background such as tourism, journalism and all academic departments of them
• Undergraduates of the above mentioned academic studies
• Postgraduates of a full-time university degree course in a relevant academic discipline
• Young professionals in journalism or tourism

English Language Requirement

The Fijet Academy Program is an international program. Applicants are expected to speak a good level of ENGLISH and participate fully in lectures and excursions in ENGLISH.

They are also expected to produce and present a written work to be printed or a production to be broadcasted on television channels or radios about the host country in ENGLISH.
Certification

All applicants who attend the Fijet Academy Program will receive a “Certificate of Attendance” at the end of the program during the Gala Dinner event.
Payment

The total tuition fee of the program is €350 for each participant. One half of the tuition fee which is €175 is covered by FIJET INTERNATIONAL and the other half which is also €175 could be covered by either the national associations or the employer of the applicant. The flight expenses of the applicants to the host country will be covered by themselves.

The Tuition Fee includes:

• a 7-day full board residential program,
• transfers by bus or fast train from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport to Tangier on 24 July 2022 and back to the same airport on 31 July 2022
• transfers by bus to all destinations which are listed in the excursions program
• entrances to historical sites or musuems
